A Slow Morning Routine, Explained

A Slow Morning Routine, Explained
For a long time I thought a morning routine meant a checklist — wake, stretch, journal, cold shower, done by 6:45. I tried that for about a month and hated every part of it. What's worked better is a much lower bar: nothing gets decided or answered before I've had coffee sitting down, in silence, for at least fifteen minutes.

That's the whole routine. No app, no tracker. Some mornings it's ten minutes because the day won't wait. Other mornings it's forty because nothing in particular is pulling at me. The consistency isn't in the timing, it's in protecting that one unhurried block before anything else gets a vote.
