The hike to Preikestolen starts easy and gets steep fast. Two hours in, the trees fall away and the fjord opens up below in a long blue ribbon between cliffs.
There is no railing at the top. Just flat rock and a straight drop to the water. I sat there for an hour and barely said a word.
Bring more water than you think you need, and start early. The parking lot fills up by nine in the morning even on a weekday.
